It was one of those very rare occasions. I was at Chennai last week, and was free for one full day! It was a Sunday actually and as I had nothing else to do I decided to spend the day at Spencer plaza. After all, its India’s biggest shopping mall.

Three really huge atria, each with loads and loads of stores around, several of which are showrooms of international brands. But most of the stores in the connecting corridors are just the ordinary festive style shops, with the owner or salesmen standing outside, and trying to lure people inside.

But the biggest attraction was that the entire place was air-conditioned! Even the open space at the center of the atria is air conditioned. This should be the reason behind all the extremely expensive stores there.

Its a nice place to spend a day – wandering through the corridors n looking at all the stuff – sure is an entertaining way to waste a day, ofcourse unless you have something specific in mind.
